There are certain things you can do and not do to improve the condition of your hair and make it grow a little quicker but there is no magic way of suddenly making it grow super fast.
The first thing to consider is how well you look after your health. You should be eating a well-balanced diet. Avoid smoking and drinking too much caffeine. Fats and sugars should be avoided as much as possible. It is advisable to take a vitamin each day. A one day formula is fine and do not think you have to spend money on expensive vitamins as long as the relevant ingredients are in your one-a day vitamin they all do the same job. There are special ‘hair vitamins’ on the market but they have the same ingredients as normal daily vitamins so do not waste your money. Look for one that has one or more of these: B-6, folic acid, biotin, zinc, magnesium, sulfur beta-carotene, and/or silica. These ingredients are all very beneficial to your hair and will help you feel well and healthy generally. If your general health is very good and you feel great then this will be reflected in the condition of your hair. It is important not to take too many vitamins so be careful not to exceed the dosage recommended. This can be harmful and sometimes fatal. If you are unsure about taking vitamins or you have any questions then get advice from your doctor before taking them.
Interestingly it has been proven that protein-rich diets encourage your hair to grow faster so include as much protein as you can into your diet. Calves’ liver, brewer’s yeast, wheat germ or granulated lecithin are examples of foods that people suggest boost the vitality and condition of your hair. Other protein-rich foods which help and can also speed up the growth of your hair are foods such as fish, beans, eggs, yoghurt and soy (tofu).
To work towards having the best conditioned hair then do not bleach, over-style, perm or colour it too much. Also do not tie it up in a pony tail all the time as this can break the hair. Massage your head every day. Scalp stimulation gets the blood flowing and is a natural way to help hair grow faster. Massaging your scalp for a couple of minutes a day also helps your hair become stronger.
Salon bought shampoo and conditioners although more expensive are better quality and worth using when washing your hair. Products bought in the shops often have ammonium laurel sulfate or silicon which are incredibly harsh on your hair. Hot oil treatments once a week help to protect the hair shafts. Stress can have a detrimental affect on your hair condition as it can on your general health and well-being so try to find time to relax or meditate. The less stressed you are the quicker your hair usually grows as well.
Other ideas are to eat gelatine which is well known for helping produce thick and strong nails. It is odourless, cheap and easy to consume via capsules or a dry mix can be mixed with a fruit juice. Drink plenty of water to not only keep your skin bright and clear, flush out toxins but also to keep your tresses moisturised, healthy and strong.
